Who is tianshi
Tianshi is a prolific musician and sound engineer, a passionate thinker, a bilingual writer, a lover of art and culture, a dancer, a certified yoga teacher and meditation instructor, and an amateur Go player. He was born and raised in Beijing, China. He moved to New York City in 2014, and now lives in Brooklyn.
What Is Studio ZFT
Studio ZFT is the music production studio which Tianshi created in the spring of 2019 in Brooklyn. The first project carried out at Studio ZFT was Studio ZFT Remastering Project, which reprocessed 415 pieces of music which Tianshi had previously made in order to bring to light the fullest power of those unique works. “ZFT” stands for the Chinese word “Zheng Fang Ti”, which means “cube”. A cube is a symbol of the initial state of creation, or the primitive stage of development of thoughts. A cube seems like the most uninteresting object, but all possible things might emerge from it with the help of imagination and hard work. The name was inspired by the fact that the room itself was actually rectangular, and the two windows were positioned off-center, which created trouble for acoustic treatment of the room.
